A short walk from Old Town Square, Maximilian has spent twenty-five years quietly building a following among travellers who prefer substance over spectacle. Its latest transformation, led by Conran and Partners, wrapped a 1903 building in bold pastel tones that nod to Prague's colourful streetscape, while bespoke lighting from local maker Sans Souci and Czech avant-garde photomontages give the public spaces real character. The 71 rooms lean into deep blue and rattan detailing, with terrazzo bathrooms and rain showers throughout. A ground-floor brasserie serves produce-driven meals from breakfast through dinner, and a basement spa gives the hotel a second, quieter register for guests who came to Prague to slow down.
