Set on a 495-acre equestrian estate in the Rambouillet forest, forty-five minutes from Paris, Le Barn was built around a passion for horses shared by owner William Kriegel and hotelier Edouard Daehn. Interior studio Be-poles drew on the image of wild horses to shape everything from the architecture to the tableware, converting two metal-clad barn sheds into 73 rooms finished in wood, leather, cork and marble, each with a private double patio overlooking the estate's pond. La Serre restaurant, under its glass roof, cooks with produce from the on-site garden and neighbouring farms, and a spa with outdoor Nordic baths, hammam and yoga sessions sits alongside horse riding, cycling and hiking across the grounds. It's a countryside reset that never feels far from Paris.
